Asbury University promotes Embrace Conference on Grace-filled Reconciliation – November 9-10

Asbury University is hosting its 4th Annual Embrace Conference. A conference that engages intentionally on matters of racial injustice and racial reconciliation. This year the keynote speaker is a leading scholar in the United States on race relations and evangelicals, Dr. Michael Emerson. Dr. Emerson is Professor and Department Head of Sociology at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He is considered a leading national scholar on race and religion, he is widely published, including 15 books like the award-winning Divided by Faith and People of the Dream: Multiracial Congregations in the United States. Emerson’s work has been featured in hundreds of news outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, CNN, USA Today, and NPR. The Embrace Conference will explore the theme “Grace-filled Reconciliation” and consider how Christians can engage in reconciliation in view of racial injustices that are part of the daily reality of people.
