Changes in MISEN leadership

The Methodist International Student Exchange Network (MISEN) has been holding monthly meetings, with a very productive agenda. Under the leadership of Leticia Bourges, PhD (UCEL, Argentina), and Michelle Raphoon, M.A. (LaGrange College, USA), MISEN has collected dues, met with international officers, and planned various activities and events. The highlight in its program is the Café Alive (an event involving faculty and students from around the world) which is scheduled for September 2024.

There is now a slight change in MISEN’s leadership, as Michelle Raphoon will be moving on to pursue other opportunities at a different, non Methodist-related institution. During her tenure with MISEN, Ms. Raphoon brought her expertise in global engagement as well as her administrative skills to help prepare for a new phase in the life of the network. Participants have been sending their contributions, attending meetings, and being engaged in MISEN’s activities. The network bids farewell to Michelle Raphoon, wishing her all the best in her career. At the same time, it is initiating a transition process to welcome a new person in its leadership team. The current leadership at MISEN is constituted as follows:

  1. Executive Board
  • Convener: Leticia Bourges (UCEL, Argentina)
  • Co-Convener: Vacant
  • Africa Representative: Wehnam Dabale (AU, Zimbabwe)
  • Asia Representative: David Reedy (Aoyama, Japan)
  • Europe Representative: Chloe Green (Roehampton, UK)
  • Latin America Representative: José Marquez (UMAD, Mexico)
  • North America Representative: Sarah McCall (Centenary, USA)
  1. Advisory Board

The IAMSCU Executive Committee and the IAMSCU Board of Directors oversee the work of MISEN and receive their reports twice a year. The vacant position will be filled by the IAMSCU Board of Directors in consultation with the MISEN Advisory Board.
