An inter-agency committee of the United Methodist Church (UMC) has been promoting new initaitives related to Net-Zero emissions, joining many governments and organizations which have committed to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions to “zero” by 2050. As part of this process, they are also interested in promoting educational activities in partnership with members of the International Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges, and Universitie (IAMSCU). On March 30, 2022, Wespath, the general agency dedicated to investments an benefits for the UMC is promoting he event “On the Menu: Climate Change and Environmental Justice” in partnership with the Worldwide Teach-In on Climate and Justice. This event highlights the net-zero commitment made on Earth Day 2021 by Wespath and other agencies of The United Methodist Church.
