The IAMSCU Human Rights Network will meet on November 13, 2025, to plan its celebration of the International Human Rights Day, which is celebrated worldwide on December 10 to mark the adoption and proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The IAMSCU Human Rights Network organizes an event every year, and in 2025 this celebratory moment is more important than ever, as a growing number of individuals, organizations, and countries have been implementing drastic actions and measures that blatantly disrespect and violate human rights.
The work of the IAMSCU Human Rights Network started in 2008 during the IAMSCU Conference in Rosario, Argentina. It has continued since then, with meetings, discussions, publications, and other initiatives, including the organization of sessions on Human Rights at each IAMSCU Conference. In 2025, members of the IAMSCU Human Rights Network also got together to reflect on the current situation worldwide and draft a declaration which has been submitted to the IAMSCU leadership for approval.

Human Rights continues to be a high priority for IAMSCU and the network includes representatives from institutions such as Soochow University in Taipei (Taiwan), American University (USA), Universidad del Centro Latinoamericano (Argentina), Stockholm University College (Sweden), Duke University (USA), Ewha Woman’s University (South Korea), Aoyama Gakuin University (Japan), Reutlingen Theological School (Germany), and Isabella Thoburn College (India), among others. This coalition of research centers around the world addresses current challenges to human rights. After the meeting on November 13, 2025, the IAMSCU Human Rights Network will share the details of its activities scheduled for December 10, 2025.
