Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) received the visit of a delegation of members of the Board of Directors of two general agencies of the United Methodist Church, the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) and the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM). The leaders of both boards and their leading staff met in Nairobi, Kenya, and visited one of the university campuses. KeMU has three campuses spread across Kenya – in Meru, Nairobi, and Monbasa.
During the meeting, KeMU Vice-Chancellor, The Rev. Prof. Dr. John Kobia Ataya, welcomed the General Secretary of GBGM-GBHEM-UMCOR, Dr. Roland Fernandes, as well as Bishops, Directors, and staff members, who were able to learn more about the history, current projects, and perspectives for future collaborations. KeMU has a long history of supporting both the African Association of Methodist Institutions of Higher Education (AAMIHE), which was founded during an event at the KeMU campus in Nairobi, and the International Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges, and Universities (IAMSCU), which has held activities in Kenya as well.
