Methodist School in Mexico receives donations of robots for educational purposes

Colégio Sara Alarcón, a Methodist-related elementary school in Mexico City, Mexico, received five robots which were donated by the United Methodist agency, United Women in Faith (UWF). This technology was donated in order to enable teaching and learning opportunities for middle school students interested in new technologies. These new technologies are being used in their robotics class. In this class, students program their robots by dragging and dropping graphic blocks on a computer screen, and working on different codes and commands to program the robots. The robots were donated by United Women in Faith, which maintains an education program and supports the school. The connections between UWF and Colégio Alarcón are more than a century old, and began as part of the work of women missionaries related to the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States.
