UCEL promotes a Latin American Conference on Human Rights

The Universidad del Centro Latinoamericano (UCEL) in Rosario, Argentina, is organizing a special hybrid conference (in person and online) on “Human Rights in Latin America: Challenges and Opportunities for our Times.” This event will take place on Monday (March 20, 2023) at 7:00 pm (corresponding to 5:00 pm CT in the USA) and will also serve to launch UCEL’s research initiative on Human Rights as well as the IAMSCU Latin American Human Rights Group, a sub-set of the IAMSCU Human Rights Network.

The event will include the following speakers:

  • Dr. Vilma Balmaeda (Duke University, USA)
  • Dr. Christian Schlick (GBGM, Chile)
  •  Dr. Ariel Strappa (Universidad National de Rosario, Argentina)

IAMSCU maintains continuous work on this subject thorough its IAMSCU Human Rights Network. This network is now creating regional initiatives and the work in Latin America is one of the first areas to be formalized. UCEL has a history of commitment to Human Rights in Argentina and has established a new Research Center on this topic. Here is the link for the event: https://www.ucel.edu.ar/evento/conferenciaddhh/.
