The IAMSCU Board of Directors is meeting on March 18, 2025, to consider a series of important issues in the life of the association and its programs. The meeting will start by honoring two important Methodist scholars who passed away recently, Dr. John Cobb. Jr., and Dr. Russell Richey. The Directors will also hear reports and updates from the IAMSCU leadership and the leadership of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) and the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM). Participants in the meeting will also dedicate time to discuss the current situation of education, particularly in the United States, but also around the world, especially as drastic political decisions affecting migration, education, trade, employment, taxes, international relations, and diplomacy are affecting Methodist-related schools worldwide.

The IAMSCU Board of Directors will also evaluate the impact of the IAMSCU International Meeting held in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2023, and start planning for the next international event, which may take place in Africa. The Directors will also receive updates from the leaders of three strategic committees working on the Wesleyan heritage in education, collaborative institutional relationships, and the financial sustainability of the association. The Board of Directors approved the IAMSCU Strategic Assessment in 2023 and is now implementing the recommended actions. This gathering will consider whether the association is on track and if the current geopolitical changes will require any change in the direction of IAMSCU in the next years.
