To the members and friends of IAMSCU,
As we observe the Advent season, I bring you greetings from the International Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges, and Universities (IAMSCU)! This is a special time of the year for all of us, celebrated with music, worship, gifts, solidarity, fellowship, and much joy.
This year, we should take time to center our attention upon the “Holy Land,” and say a prayer remembering the little town of Bethlehem, Palestine, the place where Jesus Christ was born. As we learn about the current situation there and in other places around the world, let us not forget the gift of Christmas: the birth of the “Prince of Peace” who continues to bring us hope!
As vehicles of this hope, the campuses of our IAMSCU-related schools, colleges, seminaries, and universities worldwide are promoting Christmas celebrations and proclaiming that original message, still important today, more than ever: “Peace on Earth”!
Let’s take time to celebrate peace and hope, enjoy our families, friends, and communities, and take the opportunity to rest after an eventful 2024! This surely will help us replenish our energies, so we can have a good start into the new year, 2025, and continue to promote the educational values of the Christian, Wesleyan, and Methodist traditions.
In this spirit of longing for Peace, Justice and Hope, I share with all the IAMSCU community worldwide, my best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
