IAMSCU follows up on discussions and decisions after its Board of Directors Meeting

The IAMSCU Board of Directors had its in-person meeting on August 11, 2024, in the context of the IAMSCU International Meeting in Gothenburg (Sweden). The Board of Directors is a group of educators whose diversity mirrors the plural constituencies of the association, which includes more than 1,000 members in 5 continents and 80 countries. The IAMSCU President, Adriana Murriello (Argentina), serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

The last in-person meeting of the IAMSCU Board of Directors was held in April 2023, during the Joint IAMSCU-MSN Conference “Transforming Lives,” held in four different locations in the United Kingdom: London, Bath, Bristol, and Cambridge. After holding online meetings in March and April 2024, the IAMSCU Board of Directors was able to meet in person again on August 11, 2024. During this meeting, the IAMSCU officers reconnected, welcomed new members and special guests, and discussed the programs that are being implemented by the association. One particular development is the implementation of the IAMSCU Strategic Assessment and the installation of three Strategic Committees: Wesleyan Heritage in Education, Institutional Collaborations, and Finance and Sustainability. These committees are already at work, and reporting to the IAMSCU Executive Committee.

The IAMSCU Board of Directors also discussed the need to start planning a meeting in Africa for the near future as well as select the location of the next IAMSCU Conference. The next meeting of the IAMSCU Board of Directors is scheduled for March 18, 2025, and it will be held virtually. In the meantime, the Executive Committee and the Strategic Committees as well as various IAMSCU initiatives and networks will continue their work.
